Kinger's back for another season

The outstanding defenceman returns for the 24/25 season

Chieftains are delighted to announce that Defenceman Jay King will be back in Chelmsford for the 24/25 season.

The 28 year old celebrated his 500th senior game with the Chieftains last season and we are pleased that he is continuing that career with us for another year.

Coach Lewis Clifford commented ‘I have said all along I didn’t want to make too many changes to last years team, we had a special group last year and keeping as much of that in place is important. I’m happy to be able to bring Kinger back, he was reliable and dependable last year and found an offensive side to his game that he’d maybe not been able to use as much in previous years. Kinger was a massive part of what we did last year and I’m really pleased he feels Chelmsford is the right place for him to continue his career.’

When asked about the return Kinger said ‘Signing back in Chelmsford was an incredibly easy decision for me to make. I really enjoyed my time last season and instantly felt welcomed into the team by not only the boys, but the fans and everyone behind the scenes. There is a real sense of family and passion at Chelmsford and that’s something I love and made the playoffs win that bit more special. I can’t wait to get back with the boys and push for more than one trophy this coming season. See you all in September.’
