Chieftains welcome Californian defenceman Dylan to the blue line
Chieftains are delighted to welcome Dylan Dix to the blue line for the 2024-25 season. The 6' 2" Californian defenceman is making his way across the pond from the University of Utah, where he has played in the ACHA (American Collegiate Hockey Association) league for the past four seaons finishing with the University of Utah Record for D1 points by a defenseman.
He'll be joining the Chiefs for our first couple of competative games before jetting off to Italy for a week to join up with the GB Inline Hockey squad at the World Inline Hockey Championships. As he's pretty handy on both wheels and blades.
Dylan is a duel American and UK Passport holder which makes him eligible for GB. This also makes the registration process a little easier which is good news for the management.
Cliff commented 'I am really happy to be able to bring Dylan in for this year, a player who was actually recommended to me by Mikey Power long before he knew he would be coming over from Romford, so it will be great to reunite those 2 guys. Dylan will add a massive amount to our back end, whether it is solid D on the rush and in the zone, being active and offensive at the Blue line, and playing at the top on the PP. Signing an import D is a bit against the norm in this league, but I felt with our strength in the forwards it was a luxury I could afford and would massively benefit our team.'
When asked about the move Dylan commented “I’m really excited to start my pro career in Chelmsford. I have heard nothing but great things about the organization and the city. The team had a great season last year so I’m pumped to join them and have another successful year. I can’t wait to get over there and experience the atmosphere and play in front of the Chieftains fans!”
Welcome to the UK Dylan and more importantly to the Black and Gold.
