Coaches thoughts.....

Coach Cliff give his thoughts on our game against Swindon Wildcats 2

Hi Chieftains Fans,

I hope everyone is well and enjoyed the game on Saturday, the first in a nice little run of home games for us.

It was great to see Swindon, a team new to the league, it can be a bit same old, same old in this league at times, particularly when there was only 8 teams last season, so it was refreshing to play a new team. Swindon are a young hardworking team, who are well coached and will improve as the season goes on, but we knew even at this point, we would have to be firing on all cylinders to get a solid home win.

All I was concerned about through the week was seeing a full 60 minute performance, and I think we did, there were times the game got a little sloppy but that’s easily done when the score line was as it was, however we all had to go home happy with the way we applied ourselves. It was great to see the scoring spread throughout the team, and also a solid performance from Tom Adams who played his first full game for us and kept things locked down at the back.

This week we welcome Oxford who had a win against Swindon the day after we did, we will be looking to keep the momentum and put in another solid 60 minutes, hopefully see you all there.

Cheers,

Cliff.
