Dynamic Duo return...

Get the party started! The boys are back in town for 23/24!

Chelmsford Chieftains are delighted to be able to announce the return of the ‘Dynamic Duo’ Cameron and Grant Bartlett to the Black ’n’ Gold for the 2023/24 NIHL season. 

The twins had announced retirement from the game last season, mainly due to work commitments. But they feel they have some unfinished business and are excited to return to the Riverside ice for another season. 

The Romford born pairing started their hockey careers at Romford before moving along the A12 to Chelmsford, making their senior debuts for the Warriors. In 2012/13 they moved up to be full-time Chieftains where they have played a vital part in our success over the years.

Coach Lewis Clifford stated “Obviously when you think of the Chieftains you think of Cam and Grant, they’re a huge part of the team and a massive asset for us to have as part of the team. I have seen enough in training the first few weeks back to know they’re both offensively gifted and will put up points for us throughout the season. I actually tried to sign them both a few years back when I was coaching in MK but couldn’t convince them to come up the motorway, so I’m more than happy to be working with them this season. It will take me a few weeks of juggling the lines to figure out who fits where best, but we know these two will have chemistry straight off the bat so it’s one less headache for me”.

When asked about returning for another season Cameron commented  “There was no way we could quit, all the messages I’ve received over the summer have changed my mind and we’re giving the fans what they want. I’m looking forward to getting going and hoping that we can bring the silverware back"

Grant remarked “I’m glad to be back for another season , After having a chat with Lewis during the summer  and seeing the team he had put together it would be silly not to re-sign. The team is looking great , with a lot of depth and I’m hoping I can add to that to bring some silverware home this year”.
