Coach Cliff give his thoughts on a difficult match against Solent

Hi Chieftains Fans,

I hope you’re all well and having a good week.  I would just like to apologise for the uncharacteristic performance on Sunday, that’s not the way we want to play and certainly not a reflection of the team we have been and are this season, it happens to every team from time to time but good teams find a way to make sure it’s the exception and not the norm. 

We were missing vital parts of the team with Cam, Benny and Ollie all being out of the line up, anytime someone’s missing it takes some adjustment, but 3 players who account for a massive amount of minutes between them was possibly a step too far, having said that we could and should have still had enough to get the job done. 

The game sheet will tell you that we outshot Solent by a few shots, but we weren’t clinical and didn’t take our chances when they arose and a lot of the shots they got were from high danger areas and they capitalised on that.

We are in cup action this weekend playing Invicta and Oxford, these games should give us a chance to find our mojo again and get the team back ticking along nicely. There’s always bumps in the road but we have gotten over plenty so far this season and we will continue to do so, not one or two guys but everyone together as a group.
