Alan's Biography
Hi, my name is Alan.
I play as a forward for the Chieftains.
I first played ice hockey in 2004, playing for the Bracknell Worker Bees, I worked my way through the ranks at Bracknell all the way up to 2014 which is when I left to join the Invicta Dynamos. I've also played for Slough Jets, Peterborough Phantoms, London Raiders, and Basingstoke Bison to name just a few!
The truth is… at the end of last season, I was ready to call it a day—hang up the skates and close that chapter of my life. I said it all year long: I was done. The way I play, the intensity I bring—it doesn’t come cheap. It takes a huge toll on the body, and it affects life at home too, it’s a painful job.
The way last season ended was incredibly painful. Standing on the sidelines in a sling, watching the boys go out and battle in the most important games of the year, knowing I couldn’t do anything to help—it broke me.
I’ve still got a long way to go in my recovery from surgery, but make no mistake—I’m coming back. And I’m coming back at the best form of my career. I’ve got one goal this season: to win, and to lift.
This will be the longest time I have served in one session at any team across my whole career, and that is because the club is a great place to play not just because the team, coaches and owners are great but you the fans are too.
A huge thanks to Cliff and Ben for their support and belief in me.
So far this season, my goal tally is 16.
I look forward to seeing you at the Riverside soon.
