Coaches thoughts.....

Coach Cliff gives his thoughts on our 6 point weekender!

Hi Chieftains Fans,

It was a long weekend on the road last weekend, but we have come back home with 6 points which makes the miles worth it. Thanks to those of you who followed us for one or both of the games, playing in rinks like that we need all the noise generated that we can get as they tend to be very quiet and lifeless.

Saturday was a strange game, we struggled to get ourselves going, which is on us all (players and coaches) to make sure isn’t the case, but we managed to get just enough out of ourselves to get the win and move onto Sunday.

Sundays game wasn’t probably as much fun as the result suggests, it was a ridiculously late face off time on a Sunday and the game just seemed to go on and on. The result was never really in doubt by the end of the first period, but the constant penalties on both sides but mainly MK was making periods take forever. There were positives to take from the game, the main one being the 3 points, but also seeing all 3 lines clicking and getting on the scoresheet and obviously not the busiest night, but a shutout is a shutout for Tom.

This week we travel up the road to Romford and then we take on Slough for the second time, I think we were all a little disappointed to lose in a tight game last time so we will be looking to set the record straight.

Thanks for the support, see you at the rink.

Cheers,

Cliff.
