Coaches thoughts.....
Coach Cliff gives his thoughts on our weekend win against MK Thunder
Hi Chieftains Fans,
I would like to start by sending my thoughts to all at the Slough Jets organisation, but especially Harry Hatfield and his wife Mikala on the passing of young Tyler. At the time of writing last week I wasn’t able to share details and certainly wouldn’t do so before the information was public but needless to say we are all deeply saddened by the news, as a parent myself I can’t even imagine what they are going through currently and we all send our heartfelt condolences to everyone who knew the lovely lad, rest in peace little man.
We returned to the ice at the weekend to face the MK Thunder and the game was in a similar vein to previous meetings. Thunder started well and kept us relatively quiet until the 11th minute, but once we broke the deadlock it was pretty much one way traffic for the rest of the game. Games like that can be tough to stay engaged in, and we definitely gave up more than we would have liked, however the win was comprehensive and it was great to see young Sam Bettell-Higgins get his first Chieftains goal and Eden get his first of the season.
This weekend we face Invicta for only the second time this season, they had a tough weekend last time out so we are expecting to see a reaction, we will be preparing for them this week ready for a tough game.
Thanks for your continued support, see you all at the rink.
Cheers,
Cliff.
