Gearing up for our Cup Final weekend!

Hi Chieftains Fans,

It’s an exciting week for us as we approach the Cup Final which will be played across two legs this weekend, firstly in Solent on Saturday and then back home at The Riverside on Sunday night. When there’s a chance to win silverware on the horizon it’s always a great time of the season and we will be working hard this week to get ready for the tough test ahead.

Last Saturday we had a disappointing result in Slough, it was quite uncharacteristic of us, but there was also an undercurrent of a team who didn’t want to do anything silly that would jeopardise the chance to play in the important games to come. Whilst I do get that, at the same time we can’t make a habit of playing that way as we still have 7 tough league games to get through after we finish our cup campaign this week before the playoffs arrive and everyone starts back with a clean slate.

I know ticket sales have gone really well for both legs this weekend so the atmospheres both nights should be great, we will certainly need you all to be in fine voice to help push us over the line against a tough opponent.
