Dan Fay returns
Another addition to the Chieftains blue line!
Bracknell born 23 year-old defenceman Daniel Fay began his ice hockey career in his hometown. He progressed from the junior ranks into the seniors, icing for both the Bees and Hornets in the 2017/18 season. He made his way north for university and during that time spent two seasons icing for the Widnes Wild. During that stint he enjoyed a championship medal with the Wild and a visit to Russia to represent GB in the Universiade Tournament.
After the enforced league shutdown during the covid year Fay returned south, icing for Essex rivals Romford. Again he gained international experience with the GB Under 23s.
Last season he moved along the A12 to Chelmsford where he enjoyed a solid season on the blue line.
Coach Lewis Clifford commented "I saw Dan play a couple of times last season and was very keen to get him back on board this year. I could see instantly that he makes it very difficult for players to play against him and he is not scared to get stuck in when needed either. He was a key part of the team that I wanted to ensure got back on board for this coming season”.
When asked about the coming season, Daniel said “Since joining the Chieftains last season, I have felt at home and loved every minute playing here. I’m really excited to be back for another season and am looking forward to getting back on the ice this September.”
So Welcome back to Riverside Dan……the home of the Black ’n’ Gold Army!
