Chieftains are delighted to announce the re-signing of 18 year-old forward Alexander ‘Sasha’ Maltsev.

 

Sasha originally came to us part way through last season due to unrest in Ukraine where he had been playing for Sokil Kyiv.

 

He quickly found his feet icing with us and made a great impression on all that saw him play.

 

Coach Lewis commented “Sasha was a player I was very keen to get back this year, I only saw him play once however what I did see really impressed me. He reads the game extremely well for someone his age and always gets himself into space. He is quick on the puck and also not scared to get stuck in and has a slight physical edge to his game”

 

Sasha commented “This is an amazing team to be a part of and I want to thank my team mates, coaching staff and also the fans who have all been fantastic and made me feel very welcome.

 

I will try my best to repay them with some great performances out on the ice and I am looking forward to helping the Chieftains achieve our goals this season!”
