Coaches thoughts

Coach Cliff provides his thoughts on the weekends away game

Hi Chieftains fans,

Thanks to everyone who came over to Streatham on Saturday, not our finest performance by any stretch but was great to see so many of you there.  We really struggled to get going at all, it was a very flat performance from us which is uncharacteristic of our play lately, it happens to teams from time to time but we have discussed it and we are all aware that it can’t be the case if we are serious about going places this season which everyone in the team is driven to do.

We were missing vital parts of the team on Saturday which is no excuse, but we look to welcome some of them back this weekend and some in coming weeks which will certainly give us more legs and more spark.

One huge positive that’s come out of our shorter than usual bench has been the play of Dom between the pipes, usually missing your starting goalie for 2 weekends would be a massive problem but I’m sure everyone will agree that Dom has done us and himself proud over the last 3 games and I’m looking forward to seeing him in the net more and more as the season progresses.

On that note, we gained a mini Chieftain a week or so back, I would like to congratulate Jordan and Lucy on the arrival of baby Oakley, I’m looking forward to seeing him at a game soon with his black and gold jersey on.

Thanks a lot for reading, see you at the rink,

Cliff.
