Our first signing of 2024!

Welcome to Riverside Tommy Huggett

Chieftains are pleased to announce the signing of 21 year-old forward Tommy Huggett to the Black ’n’ Gold. He’s familiar with Riverside Ice having played for both the Tomahawks and Mohawks with the Academy.

He moved onto Romford where he gained his first experience of senior hockey with the Raiders before making a switch to Invicta at the beginning of this season where he remained until last month. Chieftains management would like to thank the Dynamos for their cooperation with the transfer.

Chieftains coach Lewis Clifford commented “When I heard Tommy was looking for a new team I was keen to speak with him and see if we could get him over to Chelmsford and I’m glad that has worked out. I coached Tommy many years ago at the Conference tournament and have seen him play many times since and I know he can add depth to our team and play in various spots up and down the forward lines, Tommy will come straight in this weekend and help us push towards our goals for the remainder of the season”.

When asked about his move to Chelmsford Tommy replied “I’m excited to be back at Chelmsford where I played an important part of my junior career here. I can’t wait to get going with the new team and hopefully will be icing this weekend”.

Since that conversation all the paperwork has been completed and Tommy will be in the line-up from tomorrow.

So welcome to the Black ’n’ Gold Tommy, Welcome back to Chelmsford 🖤🧡
