Lawday returns!
He signs up for another two years!
He likes us so much he has agreed to return for a further two years!
Chieftains are pleased to announce that shot stopper Jordan Lawday has resigned for two years.
The 25 year old ‘MVP’ came to us last season when his home team of Basingstoke sadly disbanded, he very quickly proved why Cliff was keen to bring him to Chelmsford.
He brings an amazing skill set on the ice, were sure some of you saw some astonishing stops last season and we are excited to see what else he has up his sleeve this season.
Coach Cliff commented ‘We have been busy behind the scenes sorting the team for next season and where better to start telling you about that than at the back. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out you can’t win anything without a good goalie in the pipes and when you have a top end goalie you want to keep hold of him. Jordan provides us with a platform every night that lets the boys go and do what they need to do, he is solid back there and the rest of the team know they can rely on him. I’ve worked with Jordan for a number of years on and off and having him back in the net this year means I know I don’t need to worry about mindset or ability in the pipes.’
When asked about the decision to come back Jordan said ‘I am super excited to sign back at Chelmsford for two more seasons. Everyone from management, teammates and fans were unbelievable all season long. I’ve never had that much fun playing hockey before and to feel welcomed from the start.
We finished last season on a high and want to keep that going moving into next year.
Welcome back to the Black and Gold Jordan. Jordan's shirts are already owned and loaned. Congratulations to those!
